For eight pesos a local bus will take you a few miles east and down 1000 feet to Fortin del las Flores noted for its flower production and related celebrations. (Orizaba is at about 4000 feet elevation whereas Fortin-Cordoba is about 3000.) It is a pretty quiet town compared to Orizaba or Cordoba. The city center has a park like atmosphere composed of two rather large city blocks. You will notice that it is warmer at this altitude. Civic pride is evident in the tidy condition.
