| The Bosque Chapultepec is the large city park on the west side of Mexico City. I took the metro to the Auditorio station and started walking east. The Anthropological Museum and the zoo are near each other a short distance from the station. Continuing east I then walked right out of the park and up the Avenida Paseo de la Reforma. |

During the war with the USA after defending the Chapultepec Castle, six cadets leapt to their deaths rather than surrender. | Looking northeast up the Paseo de la Reforma from the Chapultepec gate you can see the tall Monumento a la Independencia in the second circle beyond La Diana Cazadora Fountain. |
