Pictures of Mexico City, Mexico

The Bosque Chapultepec is the large city park on the west side of Mexico City. I took the metro to the Auditorio station and started walking east. The Anthropological Museum and the zoo are near each other a short distance from the station. Continuing east I then walked right out of the park and up the Avenida Paseo de la Reforma.

Surprisingly McDonalds has the franchise on food at the zoo.
It is very popular.

Elephants at the zoo put
on a show all by themselves.

The Lago Chapultepec between the anthropological museum and the zoo where you can rent a boat.

Near the Paseo Reforma entrance to the park looking southwest at the Monumento of the Niños Héroes. During the war with the USA after defending the Chapultepec Castle, six cadets leapt to their deaths rather than surrender. Looking northeast up the Paseo de la Reforma from the Chapultepec gate you can see the tall Monumento a la Independencia in the second circle beyond La Diana Cazadora Fountain.
